I love Great Burgers and the “Stinky Black and Blue Burger” is one of my favorites from the Green Iguana Restaurant chain in Tampa, Florida. Their hamburgers are thick and made to your order (rare to well done). At a 1/2 pound, these burgers come with tomato, pickle, lettuce and green pickle unless you request otherwise. French fries also come with this burger, but you can substitute for a side caesar salad for a little extra. Every hamburger that I ordered (I’ve eaten a number of them over the years) from this Tampa based restaurant has been very good; when you want a good burger this place has to come to mind.
The Green Iguana Restaurant also offers a large menu, with items such as large caesar salads with fresh lettuce, and comes with garlic toast, which is a nice touch. I have them put blacken chicken on top and the this large salad is now a meal. The sandwiches are very good and so is everything else I have had on the menu.
Prices are very reasonable, but this is a bar restaurant and can get very loud when the band is playing. This Ybor City location has indoor seating, but if you sit outside you can people watch because this place is right in the smack middle of Ybor City. Ybor has its own long history and adds to the dining atmosphere.
Service is sometimes great and sometimes not so good, so be ready for that. Depends on the time you go and the particular servers available. In general, most of the time service was very adequate.
A great place for tourists or if you have guests in town and want to take them for the Ybor experience.
